Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Strawberry jam for filling
  • 400 g Cream cheese for frosting
  • 3 cups Powdered sugar for frosting
  • Fresh strawberries for decoration, to taste

Instructions
 

Preparing the Batter

  • Gather all your ingredients. Ensuring everything is close at hand makes the process smoother.
  • Lightly beat the butter and sugar together.
  • Adding the eggs one at a time and beating well after each one is added.
  • Mix in vanilla extract.
  • Combine the dry ingredients. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a different bowl and mix them together using a whisk.
  • Alternate dry and wet ingredients. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture alternately with buttermilk, starting and ending with flour.

Baking the Cake

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Make a cake pan liner out of parchment paper and grease the sides.
  • Pour the batter into the pans. Ensure it’s spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes. Or until you can cleanly stick a toothpick through the middle.
  • Let the cakes cool. First in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Assembling the Cake

  • Level your cakes. If the cakes have domed on top, trim them flat with a knife.
  • Spread strawberry jam. on top of the first cake layer.
  • Frost the cake. With a luscious layer of cream cheese frosting.
