- 1 pound about 450g Ziti pasta
- 1 cup Ricotta cheese
- 2 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 3 cups Marinara sauce
- 1 pound 450g Ground beef
- 3 cloves Garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 1/4 cup Fresh basil chopped
- To taste Salt
- To taste Pepper
Step: Preparing Your Ingredients
Firstly, heat your oven up to 375°F (190°C).
Boil the ziti according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
Set the pan on medium heat and add the olive oil. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Put in the ground beef and break it up as it cooks.
Season the beef with salt and pepper to taste and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Step: Assembling the Ziti
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ziti, ricotta cheese, one cup of mozzarella, marinara sauce, cooked ground beef, and half of the chopped basil. Mix well to ensure each noodle is coated in cheesy, saucy goodness.
Transfer the ziti mixture to your baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Include the rest of the Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses on top.
Step: Baking the Dish
Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Garnish with the remaining basil before serving.
