Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons White sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 3 tablespoons Water
  • For garnishing Pine nuts optional

Preparing the Dough

  • The flour and ground ginger should be mixed together in a large bowl.
  • Heat the sesame oil in a small pan until warm, not hot, and pour it over the flour mixture.
  • Use your hands to mix, ensuring the flour is evenly coated with oil.

Adding Sweetness

  • In a separate small pot, combine honey, sugar, and water.
  • Heat gently until the sugar dissolves completely, then pour this mixture into the flour and oil mixture.
  • Roll the dough out into a smooth, soft ball.

Shaping and Cooking

  • Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • Use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Traditional shapes include flowers and circles.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C) and carefully slide in the cookies.
  • Fry until golden brown, then remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a cooling rack.
