- 4 Whole wheat buns
- As needed Lettuce leaves
- As needed Tomato slices
- As needed Avocado slices
Preparing the Taro Mixture
Place the grated taro, chickpeas, red onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, and pepper in a food processor.
Blend or pulse until everything is well mixed but still has some chunks for texture.
Cooking the Patties
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
Place the patties in the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Assembling the Burgers
Toast the whole wheat buns lightly.
Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the taro patty.
Top with tomato and avocado slices before covering with the top half of the bun.
- Ensure the taro is well grated to avoid any large chunks that might affect the texture of your patties.
- If the mixture is too wet, add a bit more bread crumbs to help it bind together.
- For an extra flavor boost, consider adding a tablespoon of your favorite sauce or seasoning blend to the taro mixture.
