Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces Chicken breast fillets
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Cornstarch
  • 2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 2 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 2 Eggs beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Prepare the Chicken

  • Ensure your chicken fillets are thin by pounding them slightly. This ensures even cooking.
  • Use black pepper and salt to season the chicken.

Create the Coating

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  • Combine the eggs and buttermilk in a different bowl.

Dredge and Dip

  • Dip each chicken piece in the flour mixture, then the buttermilk mixture, and then back in the flour mixture. Ensure each piece is well-coated.

Fry to Perfection

  • Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C) in your fryer or pot.
  • Fry each piece for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.

Notes

  • After you fry the chicken, give it a few minutes to rest. This helps the juices settle back into the meat, keeping it moist inside and crispy on the outside.
  • Keep your oil clean to avoid a burnt taste.
