- 4 cups Water
- 4-6 Black tea bags depending on strength preference
- 2 Fresh peaches pitted and sliced
- ¾ cup Granulated sugar adjust to taste
- 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice
- Mint leaves for garnish
- Ice cubes as needed
Brew the Tea
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a low boil. Once boiling, remove from heat.
Add the tea bags, cover, and let steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
Prepare the Peach Syrup
Combine the sliced peaches, sugar, and 1 cup of water in a saucepan over medium heat.
Cook until the sugar has dissolved and the peaches have softened, about 5 minutes.
Use a wooden spoon to gently mash the peaches and release their flavor.
Combine and Chill
Remove the tea bags from the tea and discard.
Strain the peach mixture through a fine mesh strainer into the pitcher of tea. Press on the solids to extract all the juice.
Add lemon juice to the peach tea and stir well.
Chill in the refrigerator until cold, at least 1 hour.
Serve
Fill glasses with ice cubes.
Pour the cool peach tea over the ice.
Garnish with mint leaves and a slice of peach or lemon, if desired.
