  • Water As needed for steaming
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice

Prep the Broccoli

  • Start by rinsing 4 cups of fresh broccoli florets under cold water. This not only cleans the broccoli but also helps it steam better. To get even cooking, make sure the florets are about the same size.

Steam the Broccoli

  • Add a little over an inch of water to the pot and heat it while stirring. Place the steamer basket over the water, then add the broccoli. Cover and let it steam for about 3-5 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender but still has a bit of crunch.
